Birthday Flourishes

Hi all.....well it's time for another post and I used some of my favourite Distress Inks and it's in my favourite colour....Purple!!!

Products Used

Cardstock: Black, White and Ranger White Glossy Cardstock
Misc.: Maya Road Chipboard- Mini Scrolls and Mini Antique Keys, Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder- Dusty Concord, Tsukineko Clear Embossing Powder, Misc. Black Sparkle Embossing Powder, Ranger Perfect Pearls- Jewels, Basic Grey Basics Paper Ribbon Dollies, Ranger Ink Blending Tool and Misc. Rhinestone

So, I stamped the Flourish with Dusty Concord and then I stamped it again with Versamark and embossed with the clear EP. I used my distress inks and the blending tool for the background. I added the paper ribbon, which I used the Perfect Pearls on. Inked the mini scrolls with Versamark and used the Black Sparkle EP on them and then I did the key with the Black Soot and the Dusty Concord EP and adhered them all to the front. I cut the banner from the Glossy White CST, leaving the CST in the die, then I used the Blending Tool with the Milled Lavender. Stamped my sentiment with the StazOn and pop dotted it on my card. Added the rhinestone to the key and that's it for this card, so...........until next time!!! Have a great week!!!

Happy Halloween and Flying Crows!!!

Hi all, so it's time for another post..........so I figured I would do a Halloween Card, since it won't be much longer before Halloween is here! So I hope you all enjoy today's post...........I had fun making it!!!

Products Used

Cardstock: White, Black and Purple
Stamps: Stampendous Cling- Crowscape and Tim Holtz Mini Halloween
Ink: StazOn Jet Black, Tim Holtz Distress Inks- Dried Marigold, Spiced Marmalade, Milled Lavender and Dusty Concord and Versamarker

So here's how I put this together.....I used the blending tool with all of the distress inks to create the background, then I sprinkled some water on it to make the inks react. I stamped the crowscape stamp with the StazOn, then I sprayed it with the Perfect Pearls Mist and of course the pearly sheen doesn't show up on the pic! :) I really wanted the crows to stand out, so I used my Versamarker and coloured them in and used the Aged Black Embossing Powder. I absolutely love the new Stampendous Powders!!! For the sentiment I used the 2 distress inks and then I stamped the sentiment with the StazOn, then I added the lace to the bottom of the sentiment and that's pretty much it for this card. So I hope you all enjoyed my Halloween Card.............until next time.

Featured Product Post and a Giveaway!!!

Hi all, well it's time for another giveaway on the Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog..... scroll down to the end of my post for the deets............So the featured product is...................Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists!!! So here's what I did........and don't forget to check out what Sara did with the Glimmer Mist, check it out on her blog here.

Products Used:
Cardstock: White & Black
Ink: Versamark and Ranger Black Archival Ink

So I used the butterfly template and the acrylic dabbers on the white cardstock, then sprayed the glimmer mists over top. The acrylic paints actually resist the glimmer mists, so you can create some really awesome backgounds with them! Then I cut the tag out of the black cardstock with the Spellbinders die and used my versamark and clear embossing powder over top. I sprayed the glimmer mists onto the white cardstock and stamped my sentiment with the archival ink. Then I added some pearls to the flowers. That's it for this card......I hope you all get out your glimmer mists and play, it's so much fun!!!

Monday, August 8, 2011

Hi all....well it's time for another Showcase Monday on the Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog and this time we are doing Wonderful Whimsical Kids........so I decided to do a girl's birthday card and I wanted to do something kinda fun.......so here's my take on it.........

Here's the front of the card....................

and I actually even did the inside for this one.....................

Products Used:
Cardstock: Dark Purple, Light Purple and Kaiser Craft Magic Happens 6"x6" Paper Pad
Stamps: Flourishes- Kids at Play and Gina K Designs - Wishes and Dreams by Alicia K

So I picked up some of the new Fran-tage embossing powders from Stampendous and they are amazing......I have used quite a few of the colours now and you can get actually two different looks from them.....how you ask??? If you heat it from the top it gives you one look and if you heat it from the bottom it gives you another!!! You really have to try this stuff it's amazing!!! It actually tells you on the jar to heat it from the bottom and if it wasn't for one of our awesome customers....thanks Arlene!!!......I would never have known. Who reads instructions anyways.....lol.......it's just embossing powder!!! :)

When I found out we had to do a Kids Theme......I was seriously wondering what I was going to do.....then I remember that I had the Kaisercraft Magic Happens 6"x6" Paper Pad and it has such cute fairies and then I remembered I also had the Flourishes- Kids at Play stamp set, so I thought that this would be a good combination to make a great birthday card for a little girl!

So, here's how I made it.........I used my spellbinders dies to cut out 4 of the diecuts then I used my embossing folder on one of them and with my blending tool and the dusty concord ink I highlighted the raised image and around the outside. Then on the dark purple cst diecut I used the stamp with the versamark and then embossed it using my new shabby blue embossing powder, hey, did I mention that I love this stuff yet :)......then I thought that it just needed a little something, so I used my scor-tape and the mixed berries glitter around the die cuts..........and what little girl doesn't like glitter!!! Now I adhered my embossed image over the embossed diecut, Then I used the corner chompers on the patterned paper and all 4 corners of the card, then I added the ric rac and pop dotted the diecuts to the front of the card. I added a sentiment and little more glitter and of course some bling!!! The sentiments are from Gina K set.....I thought they matched perfectly with the card!!! Well that's pretty much it for this card..........I hope you all have a great week!!! Until next time............

Go and check out the embossing powder at Scrapbooker's Paradise Online Store you just never know what else you might find while you're there!!!

Roses On Your Birthday!!!

Hi all, so who's enjoying summer??? With all the rain, I sure hope that summer is somewhere around the corner.....we seem to be getting more rain than shine :) So I just love the Heartfelt Creations Dies and Stamps and I love that they have more than one stamp set for their dies. So here's what I came up with for today's post............
Products Used:
Cardstock: White, Tim Holtz Coredinations- Weathered Wood and Victorian Velvet and Kaiser Craft Velvet Ensemble 6x6 Paper Pad
Inks: Tim Holtz Distress Inks- Victorian Velvet, Aged Mahogany, Crushed Olive and Forest Moss
Misc.: Prima Lace

This is a fairly simple card, but I did do a bunch of layering. So first off, I did all the stamping on the white cst and used the dies to cut everything out twice. Then I pop dotted the flowers and all of the leaves. I used the punch on one of the patterned papers and did a bunch of layering with the patterned paper, cst and lace. Once all of that was done, I adhered the two roses and the leaves with the flourish. Then did some more layering with cst and patterned paper and stamped my sentiment. I guess that's it for this one. The new Kaiser Craft Velvet Ensemble Papers are just so gorgeous and they go great with the Heartfelt Creations Roses Dies and Stamps! So until next time...........Have a great week!!!

Cards Stamped with Acrylic Paint!!!

Hi all, well it's time for another tutorial on the Scrapbooker's Paradise Blog........and this time we are playing with Acrylic Paints, I used the Ranger Acrylic Dabbers, this is such a fun way to expand your stamping! So check out this post for my tutorial!!! This is the card that I did..............

Products Used:
Cardstock: X-press It Blending, Coredinations Tim Holtz 12"x12"-Tumbled Glass and Shabby Shutters
Ink: Tim Holtz Distress Ink- Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Shabby Shutters and Crushed Olive, Ranger Archival Ink Black
Stamps: Kaiser Craft Chapter One and Occasions
Misc.: Ranger Acrylic Dabbers- Pearl and Gold, Ranger Ink Blending Tool and Pink Paislee Daily Junque Twine

For the deets on how I did the stamping with the acrylic dabbers....click here. So all I did to finish this card is I used the Coredinations Shabby Shutters CST for the card and layered the Tumbled Glass CST over it. Then I used the Scallop corner punch on only 2 of the corners of the stamped piece. I added the twine and adhered it to the card. Now I die cut the banner and stamped the sentiment with the black archival ink and used the blending tool to apply the distress inks, this was pop dotted up in the center. That's all for this card! I hope you all have some fun playing with the acrylic paint dabbers!!!

Here's another card I did:

Products Used:
Cardstock: White, Black and Kaiser Craft Chapter One- Motive and Beginning
Ink: Ranger Archival Ink Black
Stamps: Purple Onion Birthday Banner & Kaiser Craft Chapter One
Dies: Spellbinders Labels 4 and Labels 4 small
Misc: Ranger Paint Dabber Pearl, Want 2 Scrap Bling Strips, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists- Hula Hoop, Dragonfly, Olive Vine and Electric Blue

The only thing I did different with this card is I used the Tattered Angels sprays instead of the distress inks.........there are so many options when you use the acrylic paints.......so have fun getting inky or should I say painty!!! :) That's it for this time.........so until next time.......Have a great week!!!

So who want to play with some acrylic dabbers???? Head on over to Scrapbooker's Paradise Online store and don't forget that there's..........

Flowers, Swirls & Glimmer

Hi all, so who's enjoying all this rain??? Well I will say this, if I have a choice I would take rain over snow any day!!! :) Plus it gives you the excuse to stay in and do something creative ;) So onto today's post......I really love the colours in the new Kaiser Craft Chapter One Line, so I decided to grab some of my glimmer mists and play.....I hope you all enjoy today's post!!!

Products Used
Cardstock:White, Black & Kaiser Craft Chapter One Patterned Papers- Reflect, Beginning and Motive
Ink: Ranger Black Archival Ink
Misc.: Want 2 Scrap Finesse Swirls Black, Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists- Hula Hoop, Olive Vine, Dragonfly and Electric Blue and misc. brads

I had a ton of fun playing with the glimmer mists and you really have to check out all the gorgeous bling from Want 2 Scrap that we carry!!! Okay I guess I should tell you a little bit of how I put this together......

I stamped the banner stamp on my white cst with the black ink, leaving about a half an inch between each banner. Then I used my glimmer mists over top and I love how the colours mixed together and match the colours in the Chapter One line. Then I cut it apart and adhered the strips onto the black cst. Then I added the swirls and die cut the flowers from the Kaiser Craft Chapter One patterned papers. I shaped the petals on the flowers and added brads. Then I adhered them to the card. You really have to check out the bling and the Chapter One line from Kaiser Craft......they're amazing!!! Well that's all for this time.........until next time.......

Happy Go Lucky Flowers Card!!!

Hi all.......well I'm sooo happy the snow has finally gone!!! I will take all the rain we've been having over snow anytime, but the warm sunny days are definitely the best!!! :) So we have had so many new products come in over the last few months, but I just love the bright and fun colours of the new My Mind's Eye Happy Go Lucky papers and the cute twine that goes with it, so here's what I did with the papers and twine........I hope you all like it!!!

This is the card that I made and I even pulled out my Copics to colour it....................

Products Used
Stamps: Kaiser Craft- Occasions Mini Clear Stamp & Inkadinkado- Garden Life Cling

So this is pretty simple to put together.......I used the fuchsia cst for my card and layered it with the teal cst and then the patterned paper. I punched out the garden trellis and adhered that. Then I stamped the garden life stamp and coloured it in with my Copics, trimmed around it, then matted it with the teal cst. Then I cut a strip of the patterned paper and matted it with the teal cst and topped it off with the grommet die cut and the sentiment. For my finishing touches.....I added the twine and some liquid pearls. I just love all of the colours that the twine comes in.....and of course I just had to add a few to my collection :)  Well that's all for this time...........so until next time.....

So why don't you do some shopping at the Scrapbooker's Paradise Online Store and pick up some of the new products!!! Don't forget..........You will receive FREE SHIPPING on all online orders over $50

Chanteuse Tri-Shutter Card

Hi all......well I sure have been enjoying our nice weather lately....it almost feels like spring here, finally :)........so hopefully we don't get any more of the white stuff!!! So, I really wanted to play with the new line of Chateuse papers from Kaiser Craft and this is what I came up with...........

Products Used:
Cardstock: Brown, Rose, Pink, Kaiser Craft 6"x6" Chanteuse Paper Pad, Kaiser Craft Chanteuse 12"x12" Paper-Staccato, Marcato & Vivo
Stamps: Prima Clear Stamp-Regal Madeline & Kaiser Craft Clear Stamps-Occasions

This is a pretty basic tri-shutter card, all the patterned papers are layered over top of the brown cardstock. Aren't these papers gorgeous!!! I love the pinks, browns and greens together. So, then I stamped the key with the brown StazOn ink on the 4 smallest pieces. Stamped the sentiment on the pink cardstock and layered it with the brown cardstock and added some pink rhinestones. I did use the smooch top coat on the brown flower in the middle and the clear spica on some of the other flowers.........of course this doesn't show up well in the pic :)......and that's pretty much it for this card. The only thing that takes the longest is cutting and gluing all the pieces :).....and making sure that you have the right sizes for all of the panels. Well I hope you all enjoyed my card.......so until next time.....................Have a great week!!!

And don't forget to leave a comment on our GIVEAWAY!!! You can find it here.

Black & White Mosaic Wedding Card

Hi all, so our theme today is wedding and I decided to do.......a wedding card!!! I had bought some of the new Harmonie Mosaic Tiles and have been wanting to use them, so I thought that I would show you how you can use these cute tiles on a card. I hope that you all will give them a try, as they have so many things you can do with them. I will give you a couple of ideas, after my post. So onto today's card......................

Here's the front of the card.......................................

This is the inside...........................yes I actually did the inside of the card this time..........you will see why shortly :)

And this is how it looks when you stand it up...........

Products Used:
Cardstock: Black & Kaiser Craft 6"x6" Paper Pad-After Five
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms-Wedding Set
Dies: Spellbinders Labels 17 & Rose Creations
Misc.: Harmonie Mini Mosaic Tiles- Black & White, Prima Say It In Crystals-Swirls Black, Misc. Rhinestone Brads & Misc. Ribbon & Crochet Velvet Trim

So I did say I would tell you a couple of ways to use the tiles..........of course you can use them like I did :), but you can also use them as a border on your card. Also, if you want to, you can leave a small space between the tiles and use the Harmonie Cement it comes in Chocolate or White. To do this you would attach your tiles using double sided adhesive but leave a space between your tiles, then you would mix up the cement according to the directions on the bottle and apply it with a spatula, making sure to push it into the cracks. Now, remove as much of the cement as you can from the top of your tiles. Then once it's dry, wipe it with a damp cloth to remove the rest of the cement that's on the top of your tiles. Basically the same idea as if you were tiling your kitchen or bathroom. So, you can create many designs using the tiles and they come in two sizes. Don't forget you can also colour these tiles with your copics to create the colour that you want. I hope you will try them.......just think of all the different patterns you could create with them by using different colours and sizes.

For my card, I just layered some of the after five patterned papers and I also used the after five paper for my flowers, which are all cut out using the Rose Creations die. This is one of the new Spellbinders and I love this die, it has 6 flower sizes and 3 leaves, so you can make lots of layered flowers. Well I hope you enjoyed my card and how to use the tiles...........so until next time............................

Head on over to Scrapbooker's Paradise Online Store and pick up some of those tiles and cement!!! Also don't forget that we have.............
