Simple Poinsettia Christmas Card

Hi all, I just can't believe we have snow here already :( it's just too soon for the white stuff!!! Oh well, I guess I just have to get used to it.....but I'm hoping for a mild winter!!! Anyways, I did a Christmas card for you today.....and I actually tried to keep it simple this time! So here's what I did................

Products Used:
Cardstock: White and Burgundy
Stamps: Penny Black- Ponsettia Script Background, Tim Holtz- Retro Holiday
Inks: Versamark, Tim Holtz Distress Stains- Aged Mahogany, Walnut Stain, Forest Moss and Antique Linen

So here's how I made this card, I used the Antique Linen on the white cst then I applied the Aged Mahogany and Walnut Stain to my stamp and stamped. I love how we can stamp with the Distress Stains....if you haven't tried it yet, you really should!!! Then I sprayed the Perfect Pearls Mist over top to give it some shimmer. Now I stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed it with the Gold EP. Then I outlined the Merry Christmas with my black pen, it really makes it stand out! Then I added my ribbon and the Ponsettia. For the Poinsettia, I used the stains on them to change there colour, then I dried them with my heat tool. That's it for this card.....I hope you enjoyed my Simple Card :)........hope you all have a great week!!!

Poinsettia with a Shimmer

Hi all, wow this month sure has gone fast.......it's almost November and soon it will be Christmas!!! So is anyone actually ready for Christmas? I know I'm no where near ready!!! When you think about it, there's really not much time left, I guess I had better get busy and start doing some of the Christmas gifts that I want to make!!! ....So while I am on the subject of Christmas......I thought I would make a Poinsettia card, this is from the new Penny Black stamps that we got in!

Products Used
Cardstock: Burgundy, White and Gold Shimmer
Ink: Versamark
Misc.: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder-Holly Stripes, Tsukineko-Gold Embossing Powder, Copic Marker- R89, Distress Stickles-Aged Mahogany and misc. pearl flourish

So I stamped the poinsettia 3 times with Versamark and then embossed with the gold EP and fussy cut it so that I was able to layer the 3 sizes of petals and then coloured them all in with my Copic marker, then added the distressed stickles to the petals. Pop dotted the Poinsettia over the 3 panels that I embossed with my folder and cut. Stamped and embossed the sentiment and added some pearl flourishes that I coloured with my Copic Marker. So that's it for this card...........the poinsettia and the gold shimmer paper look so much better in person!!! Well I hope you all have a great week and a Happy Halloween!!! Until next time......................

Time for Our Feature Product Post and Who Would like to Win Some Blog Candy?????

Hi all, well it's time for another Feature Product Post and this time it's the Stampendous Embossing Powder Kits!!! Love them, they give you a great way to try a bunch of colours and a little goes along way!!! So who's up for winning some awesome powders..........see the deets at the end of my post!!! So onto today's post, this time I decided to make 2 cards and I hope you like them.......l know I enjoyed playing with these powders!!! So here's the first card............

Products Used:
Cardstock: Black, Core'dinations All in the Family- Violets
Ink:Versamark & Ranger Archival Black Ink

So a little bit of how I put it all together.....I die cut the card and the sticky backed canvas with the spellbinders dies, then I peeled the backing off of the canvas and used the sticky back to apply the EP's, one at a time heating them as I did each colour. I really love the effect of this, it looks awesome!!! Then I stamped it with the Music Background.  Now I die cut the black cardstock for the flourishes and used the Versamark ink on them and then the EP's. Then I stamped the sentiment, embossed it and punched it out using the Photo Labels punch. Then I just added some of the rhinestones to the flourishes, you know  I love my bling!!!!

Now, onto the second card............I really wasn't too sure about this card, but I figured I would share it anyways.........so here it is.......let me know what you think........

Products Used:
Cardstock: White, Core'dinations all in the Family- Violets & Pretty in Pink

Well, are you still with me???.........lol....so the info on how I did this card.

First, I die cut the flowers then I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the stamping. I love the MFT dies and stamps, they're awesome!!! If you're not sure on how to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig see this post.....it definitely comes in handy and is so quick and easy to use!!! Then I coloured in the flowers with my versamark marker and embossed, doing only one colour at a time, that way they don't mix together. Once the flowers were done, I added the flower soft to the center. Then, I used my embossing folder and I sanded the cardstock. Die cut the lacy circle twice and cut them in half. On the bottom one, I used the EP 3x and then stamped into it with my sentiment, while it was still hot..........it showed up really well in person, but not so much for the camera........lol....so I used my Stamp-a-ma-jig again and used the Staz On white, now it shows up better for the camera, and I actually like how it looks. Did a little bit of sanding on them added my ribbon and tied a bow.

That's pretty much it for this card..........okay now on to the good stuff..........would you like to WIN one of the Stampendous EP Kits???? Fabulous Diamonds, Glitter & Bling Card

Well let's just start out by wishing you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and enjoyed the holidays......I know that I did, maybe a little too much.....I know I had my share of sweets, okay maybe more than my share.......lol....Well it's that time again, and guess what I have to share with you all today............a card of course.....I will give you a short tutorial on how to make it at the end of the post.

Products Used

Prima Say It in Crystals-Swirls Black

So here's how I made this card.......Stamp the cardstock with the letter background stamp and cut with the diamond die, you will need approx. 17 of the diamonds. Apply scor-tape to a piece of cardstock and adhere the stamped diamonds, leaving spaces between them. Apply the glitter and burnish into all the lines......creating a tiled effect. I love this technique, you can do this with lots of different shapes. You could also use embossing powder instead of the glitter to create a totally different look. The possibilities are endless!!!

So, after that was all done I used the scor-tape and glitter on one of the diamonds and then layered it with 2 more diamonds, on the last one I stamped my saying and embossed it with the black EP. You really have to check out the Sassy Sentiment set, it's awesome, I just had to buy it!!! Then I added my ribbon and of course it just had to have some bling....and that's pretty much it for this card.........I hope you all try this technique.......if you do post a link to it in the comments section, I would love to see it!!!

So I guess that's it...........until next time..........

A Glittery Merry Christmas!!!

Hi all, well I have one last christmas card to share.........It's a fairly quick and easy card, so I hope you all like it!!! So just in case I don't get to post again before the new year starts, I want to wish all of you a
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!!!

Products Used

Cardstock- Red & Green
Glitter Ritz-Warm Highlights Glitter
Distress Inks-Bundled Sage, Forest Moss, Fired Brick & Aged Mahogany
Misc. Red Rhinestones

I absolutely love the glitter on this card, this is one of my favourite techniques, I think it just makes the
card so pretty......and of course it doesn't show up like it looks!!!   So here's a short version of how I made it........I brayered the glossy cardstock with all the distress inks, then used my Scor Tape for the adhesive and burnished the glitter on. Once that was done, I stamped the Christmas Text Stamp with the StazOn and cut it out with my Labels 8 die. Added a bow and then of course, I just had to add some bling........so I used some red rhinestones. That's pretty much it for this card. These would be quick to make if you need a few extra cards for Christmas and I still have a few cards to make......lol.....I should have them done by Christmas!

So don't forget about our Playing in Paradise Sketch Challenge.......you have until Dec. 31st to play, we would love to see what you all come up with!!!
