Playing in Paradise Challenge #8

So this is the last time for all of the senior design team members to participate in the challenge.........but we have something else we will be doing instead.......so let's just say it's theme based!!! Any guesses?? So onto today's challenge..............this is the inspiration..............

Isn't this beautiful.........so here's what I created...........................

Products Used:
Cardstock: Ranger 12"x12" Sticky Backed Canvas-Natural, Olive Green & Beige

I just love the inspiration for this.........so I decided to go with a little bit more of the green than what was in the pic.......but I love how the card turned out. I used the mini branches template on the sticky backed canvas and the glitter, then I frayed the edges a little. I made my own rose with the tattered florals die, the sticky backed canvas, my copics and the airbrush system. Then I added some of the rock candy to the rose. I just love these roses.......plus, they are so much fun to make!!! I punched out my sentiment and added the Scor Tape and some glitter to frame the sentiment, then put it all together with the lace, a leaf and the roses. That's pretty much it for this card. I hope you enjoyed my take on the challenge!!!

So let's go and check out what our design team has come up with.....................

It's Time for Another Playing in Paradise Challenge!!!

So it's that time again, are you ready to play along with us? This time Carla wanted us to Scraplift her colours, technique and layout........so below is Carla's adorable card............

And here's my take on it.......................I also did a baby card, as I felt our new Best Creations Safari Boy line would fit perfectly with the challenge!!! Also this card has no stamping on it........can you believe that!! This has to be a first for me :)

Products Used:
Cardstock: Light Blue, Mint Green & Best Creations Safari Boy 6"x6" Paper Pad

So this is a really quick and easy card to do, but I love how it turned out and if you haven't all ready you really need to check out all the awesome papers by Best Creations!!! They have some beautiful papers and their glitter papers are to die for!!! The nice thing about their glitter papers is the glitter does not come off and the colours are amazing.

So onto how I made my card........basically everything is cut out using the Spellbinders and Sizzix dies.........then I used the Sweet Baby Boy saying in the 6"x6" Paper pad and pop dotted it over the Labels 17 die cuts. I used the Smooch Accent ink around the striped circle and the labels 17 die cut, to look like stitching. Added the buttons and the pearls to the card and that's it!!! Well, I hope you all enjoyed my card!!!

Now you really have to check out what the Creative Challenge Team has done:

It's Time for another Playing In Paradise Sketch Challenge #4

Hi all, it's that time again, I hope you'll all play along with us............so onto the challenge..........

Scrapbook Page Layout

Card Layout

And here's my take on the sketch...........and of course I did a card again.......but I just love the Bo Bunny Crush papers.................

Products Used
Cardstock- Black & Red
Bo Bunny Crush 6"x6" Paper Pad
Stamps- Flourishes- Fanciful Flourishes Set
Spellbinder's Classic Hearts & Scalloped Hearts Dies

So this is a pretty quick card to make..........but I just love how it turned out.........so onto a little bit of the deets as to how I made this.............

So, I used the Cherish punch on the red Cardstock and layered the Bo Bunny Crush on top, then I added the scor tape and applied the glitter.......and of course the glitter doesn't show up well on the camera!!! Then I cut out all the hearts with the dies, I stamped the flourished heart twice on the red cardstock and embossed it with the clear EP, then stamped my sentiment on the last heart and embossed it with the clear EP. Now, pop dot all three hearts on the card........that's it for this card!!!

So check out what everyone else has done with this sketch........................

It's Time for another, Playing in Paradise Sketch Challenge #3

Well are you ready to play along with us? For this one Becky Fleck created a sketch for us and is suppling us with a sample. Also, we will be giving away her new Page Maps book ........isn't that awesome!!! So here's the sketch's for this one:
Card

Scrapbook Page

So here's my take on the sketch and yes I did a card.......lol

Products Used

Now a little bit of the deets......the main thing I did with this card is I used my new cherish punch and on the Butterfly embossed cardstock and then I stitched it with the black floss. I really love this punch!!! It gives you evenly spaced holes, so you could leave it as is or do what I did and stitch it! I was actually surprised that the stitching didn't take as long as I thought it would and it just adds so much to the card.

Then I stamped the Kids at Play set and embossed it with the Black EP. I used the Spellbinders die and cut 2 of them, this die has always reminded me of clouds, so I hope that you think so too!! I hope you all enjoyed my version of the sketch, thanks for stopping by and checking it out!!!

Now go and check out what everyone else has done:

Card Challenge

Scrapbooking Page Sketch

So you can do either one............or both if you wish!!! I decided to do the card.............scroll down to the end of my post and check out what all the other gals have done, just click on the links and it will take you to their blog........

Products Used:

Prima Fairy Flora 6"x6" Paper Pad
Copic X-press It Cardstock
Purple & Green Cardstock
Ranger Sticky Back Canvas White
Justrite- My Garden Set
Craft & Glitz Glitter- Lavender
In The Making Glitter- Cool Highlights
Stampendous Embossing Powder- White Pearls
Momento Tuxedo Black
Distress Ink Pad - Milled Lavendar
Crafter's Workshop 6"x 6" Template- Mini Cosmic Swirls
Copic Markers in the following colours: V17, V15, V12, YR18, Y17, Y38 & 0(Colorless Blender)
Spellbinders Dies: Standard Circles LG & Scalloped Circles LG
Cuttlebug Embossing Folder- Polka Dots
Harmonie Chipboard Butterfly
Kaiser Craft Silver Rhinestones
Distress Stickles- Rock Candy
American Crafts- String Caramel
Buttons

So here's how I put it together..............I used the paper from the Prima pad and embossed it with the Polka Dots folder, then layered the green cardstock and a strip from the Prima pad and then the Purple cardstock.  I stamped the image and sentiment from the my garden set and cut them out with the Spellbinder's dies. Coloured the image with my Copics and used the distress ink on the sentiment. Adhered them all to the scalloped circle.

Now for the fun part.......I just had to try a new technique......I cut the circles from the Sticky back canvas and used the sticky side of it and put my mini cosmic swirls template on it and applied the embossing powder, then I peeled off the template and heated the embossing powder. Then you apply the glitter. I just love this technique!!! Here's a close up of what it looks like...........it is more glittery in person..........

So now I glued the Prima paper to the butterfly and trimmed, I used my Copic to go around the outside of the butterfly and to colour the string. Threaded the buttons on and made some antennas and glued the butterfly on to my card. Now what's a card without some bling..........lol...............so I added the rhinestones.

So now check out what everyone else has done with the sketch and say hello while you're there...........

Playing in Paradise Sketch Challenge

So who's up for a challenge???

Card Layout

Scrapbook Layout

So here's my take on the Card Layout.................more details below.....

Products Used:

Copic Markers in the following colors: W3, W5, W7, W9, 110, RV 10, RV11, RV17, RV19 & RV34
Cardstock in the following colours: Black & 2 colours of Pink

Okay so now on to the details of how I made my card..............

I cut my card so it's a 6"x6" card and rounded all the corners. The next part is to use paper from the DCWV paper pad with the Edger medallion chain punch,  the Decorative Flourishes die, Butterflies 2 and the 2nd largest die from Labels one. Oh and I also cut a strip for glueing on the dark pink cardstock.  I then die cut the largest die from Labels One with the dark pink cardstock and die cut the lighter pink cardstock with Decorative Label 4. Now you can stamp the saying from the Life Lines set with the black ink onto the lighter pink cardstock.

Okay I just have to say this...............I just love my copics.......what a great way to make matching embellies!!! So now you can play with your airbrush and copics........I used the prima flowers and airbrushed them with my copics..........what no airbrush???.......no worries, you can colour the flowers with your copics too.......but, I just have to use my airbrush, it's sooo much fun........but I think I over did it and I made too many flowers, but that's fine, I'm sure I can use them on another card.........lol......

Now just use your pop dots and adhesive and adhere everything! Lastly use your I-Rock tool and attach all those gorgeous rhinestones. That's it!!!

Well I hope you enjoyed my attempt at a short tutorial..........please feel free to leave me comments, I greatly appreciate them!! Thanks for looking!!!
